Nintendo Sued Over The Wii Remote!

With all the reports of snapping Wii Remote wrist straps causing broken TVs, Nintendo has been hit with the first lawsuit over its controllers. The surprising thing, however, is that the complaint is not because of a broken TV, but rather patent infringement.

Google To Battle Microsoft

Google battles Microsoft by ZDNet's Donna Bogatin -- I heard the Google Enterprise troops last week at the NYC Googleplex gear up for intensified battle against Microsoft with the cry of 'Death to the hierarchy.' Google CEO Eric Schmidt is determined to make the Google application cloud 'something you'd use everyday in everyday life,' instead of Microsoft Office.

What an amazing week it's been. In just the first 24 hours, there were more than 2 million people using the new Firefox 2 browser. We were seeing downloads as high as 30 per second. 30 per second!!! Wow.

Office Genuine Advantage!

After first introducing a voluntary way for users to ensure that they only used licensed and legal copies of Microsoft Office products, the software giant has announced it is about to make the scheme mandatory.

The move means users who are caught using software that can't be proved to be 100 per cent legal won't get access to add-ons and updates from Microsoft.

Microsoft to release customer service chat-bots

Microsoft has acquired Colloquis, a company that produces language-recognising support programmes.

The Colloquis technology will be incorporated into Microsoft's customer support initiatives to create computer-based interactive customer services dubbed Windows Live Service Agents.

Zune Tunes With Microsoft Points

Prepaid cards charged up with Microsoft Points will be available at certain retailers or online stores, including Xbox Live Marketplace.

Individual songs will be available to purchase for 79 Microsoft Points per track, or about 99 cents, the same cost as an iTunes song.
